10 HRS AGO - NorwichTried out me bros ticket on the third tier of the east stand. Sue, who’d sprained her ankle, got the third degree when requesting the lift – got all that “it’s for the corporates bollocks” Same on the way out. Some of the stewards really piss me off. A bit of common sense and respect wouldn’t go amiss. It’s very high on that third tier, came down to the spare seat on the second at half time – seemed very low down. Got away with it a bit v Norwich, penalty wise, and they played pretty well, running about and stuff. Our lot couldn’t be arsed again, but I was quite impressed with Jack Rodwell. Physical impossibility for Norwich to beat us but they did – their second away win of the season and our second defeat. So the players can’t blame Mancini for that one. They know how to put us through it? Another inept display, you’d’ve thought they’d want to win some respect after the cup Final debacle. No chance. Still, better for Norwich to clock up a win v us when points weren’t Collapse

4 DAYS AGO - The big question is: What is Begiristain's record like?
Before we start it is worth remembering Barcelona had a very unique system in place during Txiki's time. Barca had a once in 50 years crop of youth players come along in a very short space of time which certainly helped Txiki. Barca didn't really have that many pressing needs from 2007/8 onwards. The youth products were sensational and the focus was on highly technical players who could easily fit into a style of play that ran all the way through the football club: movement, intelligence, ball retention and recycling and a blitz pressing game.
It is also worth saying that part of Barcelona's focus was to shift out players whose attitudes were deemed to be below the required standards. Deco and Giuly were two such players. Ronaldinho was another with Eto'o unfairly lumped in with the Brazilian as someone who didn't always behave in a professional manner.
Writing this the word IMBRAHIMOVIC screams out!
So, Txiki/Soriano, you fired Collapse

1 DAY AGO - So that's it. The season after the best season ever is over. In many ways I'm glad, this season has been more downs than ups. We finished 2nd with automatic champions league qualification and runners up in the FA cup. It shows how far we have come that this is deemed enough to sack a manager that has won 3 trophies in 3 years.Mancini had to go in my opinion. The timing was awful and he probably deserved more time but he had obviously lost the dressing room and he wasn't very good in Europe. Pellegrini dropped Riqulme. This says everything about the mans character. He will not tolerate any egos in the dressing room and we need this. Also he can bring Isco with him! (please!) I'm gonna make some points about our season. PositivesJack Rodwell looks like he can become a top cm for us, if he stays injury free.Nastasic has been a superb signing. Made his debut at 19 and is part of the leagues best defence.Mancini getting sacked. I know, controversial but he had taken us as far as he could Collapse

5 DAYS AGO - The man with the Champions League haloTime waits for no one in football. The various shades of dust are still settling on Manchester City's Retro Tribute FA Cup Final weekend, where the cup was lost against a side relegated three days later, in circumstances even Tony Soprano couldn't have made more complicated. There was no horse's head, but the blood letting has not stopped for three days and the rest of us have been left feeling like a finely sliced salami.Outgoing manager, Roberto Mancini, leaving with the songs of thousands still ringing in his ears, has already begun to be painted in a different light, now that he has left the building. With the useful golden rule of never cross your assistant kit man added to an ever-lengthening list of things to be aware of as a football manager, tales of arrogance and autocracy now seep from the Etihad's walls like blood from a still warm corpse. 6 DAYS AGO - Reading, decided to give it a miss due to cost, distance, weather forecast and work commitments. One part of me wanted to be there to show support, the other to boycott it in protest at Saturday and the fact that the players haven’t yet apologised to us fans.So watched it at the Subbi club in Tyldesley which was a pleasant experience. Learned that Platt had walked out unsurprisingly. That makes his comments after the derby “we’re here to stay, we’re not going away” seem a bit ironic.Been pestered a bit by the media – MEN, Talksport, and yesterday on BBC North West – 5 minute interview and 20 secs showing and looking like a fat f*ck!Good article in the manumirror by Olly Holt on Mancini etc. apparently he didn’t have a holistic approach which is a bit rich as Soriano, apparently, goes around the club with his nose in the air, and doesn’t acknowledge the staff.Moyes, incidentally, is described to me as a “vile person” by a senior BBC executive. So no change there then.Anyway, Collapse
